Information about SAUL benefits

SAUL Benefits Guide
‘Your future, your choice’ outlines the benefits for members who were contributing to SAUL at 1 October 2010, or who joined after that date. The benefits guide provides detailed information about the provisions of the Scheme and the benefits available to members.

SAUL Summary Leaflet
‘It’s your future’ summarises the benefits of SAUL membership.

Irregular part-time employees joining SAUL
If your contract of employment does not state your normal hours of work or if your annual Salary is not paid evenly throughout the year this leaflet explains the differences in how your benefits are calculated.

Retirement Booklet
‘Receiving your SAUL pension’ provides information about paying your SAUL benefits including how we pay and increase your pension as well as available death benefits.

SAUL Rules
The current Trust Deed and Rules sets out members’ entitlement from SAUL. This working copy includes all amendments up to the changes made on 19 November 2009.

Financial Information and Reports

Annual Report & Financial Statements
Produced annually, for the year to 31 March, it provides detailed information about SAUL and its finances.

Annual Review
Summary of the Annual Report & Financial Statements which is given to SAUL members each year.

Actuarial Valuation
SAUL’s actuary conducts a valuation of the Scheme every three years. This is an assessment of the funding level of the Scheme which examines the Scheme’s assets and liabilities (both current and projected). The Actuarial Valuation includes the Trustee's Statement of Funding Principles.

Actuarial Report
In between each actuarial valuation, SAUL’s actuary produces an annual report on the Scheme's funding level.

Statement of Investment Principles
A guide to SAUL’s investment objectives including the aims and strategy for managing the Scheme’s assets.

Assurance Report on Internal Controls
Information from our auditors about how SAUL operates and the controls we have in place.
