Active Members ► Combining previous periods of SAUL service If you have a previous period of service in SAUL it might be possible for you to link it with your current SAUL service so that all your benefits are calculated using your Pensionable Salary when you retire or leave the Scheme. |

Why combine service? This could be of greater advantage to you than having your benefits calculated separately for each period of Pensionable Service. If your salary has increased at a higher rate than your deferred benefits since you left SAUL previously, or you expect it to in future, it could be beneficial. When can I apply? If you joined SAUL after 17January 2002 you have one year from the date you joined to apply. If you joined before this date you can apply to combine your benefits at any time. How does the combining benefits process work? You can apply to SAUL for a quotation and then it’s up to you whether to accept. Please speak to your Pensions Officer for more information. |
