Active Members ► Reaching 40 years' service in SAUL When you reach 40 years of Pensionable Service you and your employer can decide whether or not to continue paying contributions to SAUL. Please speak to your Pensions Officer who will ask you to confirm whether you wish to continue contributing by completing a ‘continuing service form’. |

Your options If you and your employer decide to continue contributing you will build up additional Pensionable Service until you retire. If you decide to continue contributing but your employer does not then you will build up Additional Pension through Additional Voluntary Contributions until you retire. SAUL Trustee Company will provide you with a quotation. If you both you and your employer decide not to continue contributing you will not build up Pensionable Service in SAUL. Whichever option you decide you will still be fully covered for death-in-service benefits and any future salary increases will be taken into account when your pension is calculated at retirement. |
